Generating Market Charts Inside Discord

The /tc command turns any Discord channel into a chart terminal — price charts, comparisons and sector heatmaps, without leaving the conversation.

Generating Market Charts Inside Discord
Someone mentions a ticker mid-conversation and the thread stalls while everyone opens a chart in another tab. The TradeRange Discord bot closes that gap: type /tc, name a symbol, and the chart lands in the channel as an image everyone can see and react to. This post covers the three /tc subcommands, the options worth knowing, and how to get the bot into your own server.

Inviting the bot

The invite is a standard Discord OAuth flow and takes about thirty seconds.
  1. Open the bot page at traderange.net/bot.html.
  2. Click Add to Discord. You'll be sent to Discord's authorisation screen.
  3. Pick the server you want the bot in — you need the Manage Server permission on it, which Discord enforces before it will show the server in the list.
  4. Approve the requested permissions and confirm. The bot appears in your member list and its slash commands register straight away.
Slash commands can take a minute to show up in the Discord client the first time. If /tc doesn't autocomplete immediately, wait a moment or restart the app.
