Is TradeRange free?

Yes. Building and backtesting portfolios and playing the daily games are free. A free account saves your portfolios and tracks your game scores.

What is the custom ETF backtester?

The backtester lets you combine any tickers into a portfolio, set each holding's weight, choose a rebalancing schedule and an initial investment, then run it against up to a decade of real historical price data to see how it would have performed.

What metrics does the backtester calculate?

It calculates CAGR and total return, risk-adjusted metrics like the Sharpe and Sortino ratios, maximum drawdown, a monthly return heatmap, and sector, market-cap, and geographic exposure. You can benchmark results against SPY, QQQ, VTI, VOO, and VT.
